Getting started with Accrue

Set up your path, add the places you work, and make your first record.

Set up Accrue

Accrue keeps one activity record and reads it through each ledger you maintain. Start with the path that describes your current training, then add the sites and supervisors tied to your work. You can change these details later in Settings.

  1. Sign in to Accrue with Apple or email on iPhone; in the browser, use the same account.
  2. Answer the setup questions about your state, profession, stage, program, and dates that apply to you. Skip a detail if it is unknown; the app should not fill in a date or approval you have not supplied.
  3. Review the proposed board and program ledgers. Each ledger is its own reading of your records. A placeholder means Accrue does not have verified figures for that track.
  4. Add a site and, where applicable, its supervisor. Enter only the work details needed for records and forms.
  5. When setup is saved, open Home or Hours and make your first entry with its actual date, duration, activity, and site.

If you already have hours from another system, use the spreadsheet import template in Reports and exports. For hours that predate the records you are entering, see opening balances instead of making duplicate entries.

What Accrue shows

Home gives you a short reading of active ledgers and this week's hours; Hours keeps the saved entry list, while Dashboard charts time and Tasks lists work supplied by your setup or selected packs. Open a ledger for its targets, sources, warnings, and progress details.

Accrue is a record-keeping aid. Its figures do not establish that a board, school, employer, or supervisor has accepted your work. Review the source shown with each ledger and confirm current requirements with the relevant authority. Placeholder and trainee-entered figures remain marked as unverified.

Use iPhone or web

The iPhone app and browser app cover the main record, ledger, dashboard, and task workflows. Their controls differ: iPhone uses four bottom tabs and opens Settings from Home; web uses a sidebar with separate records links and an account menu. The web session appears in a persistent session bar. The iPhone can also show a system timer activity and alarm.

In the browser app, open Settings → API keys to manage read-only access for connected tools. The page is part of Accrue, but it manages API access rather than logging hours or editing ledgers. See API keys.
